getting one bang instead of several with a float

I am using this object

[if $f1 < 0.5 then out bang]

But when my float goes below 0.5 I get a bunch of bangs but I only want one – that is that to get another bang I first need to go above 0.5 and then back below to get the second bang

what would be a good way to do that

All the best
