I have downloaded this "frame-difference" patch from Andrew Benson's article and have been trying to make it produce some sound.

I made a very simple spectrum and connected it to the number box that gets prices from the jit.3m object. The problem is that as soon as these prices get a bit higher, the sound gets immediately distorted, even though this number box is not immediately connected to the frequency number.

Can anyone help a novice struggling his way through Max?

getting rid of the noise
