hi i have max 5, an intel mac running osx 10.6, and i would like to use my graphic drawing tablet with jitter somehow. does anyone know if the wacom object from CNMAT supports non-Wacom models? here a link to the cnmat site:

http://cnmat.berkeley.edu/downloads

i am using this tablet model:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10841&cs_id=1084101&p_id=6251&seq=1&format=2

there’s a note on the wacom help patch that says “If your tool is not in the list, just put it on the tablet and press “menu” once again” … i have no idea what this means can someone help please thanks!!

I would say no.

The wacom object pulls data from the wacom driver. If it works with non-wacom devices, then it is a complete accident.

The tool menu remembers all the pens you’ve used on your wacom tablet.

rats.

thanks very much for the help.

has anyone ever heard of a non-wacom object? or somehow making a communication between the tablet and max?

i wonder if Flash accepts messages or communicates with tablets…. hmmm… there must be a workaround or something i could do… what about this:

using the tablet, i could draw on a swf window, and have that show up in a jit window…

of course this would require some testing. i’ve never made a flash communicate with max, havent gotten that far yet…

i’m open to any suggestions thanks again for the help

i tried this. the hi object detects my tablet – the max window reports this message <

hi: focusing on TWA60

> thats the name of my tablet. yet, i cannot get the hi object to print anything else (none of the device’s element’s value). of course the hi object worked fine with my regular trackpad, just as it should.

so i dont think my drawing tablet is going to suffice for max. for now i’m just going to see what i can do with the Flash/Max idea

thanks
