Sorry if this is remedial but I've tried several approaches and nothing seems to be working.

The Goal: A grid of independently controllable squares. Lets say 128 by 72 and I would like to be able to have each one randomly fading between rgb 0 0 0 and rgb 1 1 1.

Problems: I've tried "peek~" and "setcell" messages embedded inside a Poly~ that update a jit.matrix

I've tried jit.gl.sketch but again the frame rate is quite low.

I'm on a 17 inch Macbook pro with 2.6 CD2 and 4 Gigs of ram with the new Nvidia grphics card.

This should be possible at a reasonable (>15fp) frame rate?

Does anyone have time to point me in the right direction?

I am trying to understand your problem here - in which way would they 
fade randomly between different colours, and in which way would the 
pixels be individually controlled?

To ask in a different way, how would your problem differ from this patch?

So for the sake of testing I've created a random ramper inside of a poly~ that is connected to the jit.matrix and tries to independently update each cell. I only get about 10fps on this patch and it is only the Green, not Reds, or Blues. 

I have included the main patch and the patch that I'm using for the poly~.

I only get about 10fps on this patch and it is only the Green, not Reds, or Blues.
