groove~ — A small problem but an irritating one.

Is there any way of stopping groove from automatically playing the newly loaded sample when I replace/read a new file into buffer~.

It wont play it back unwanted after subsequent buffer reads but will do every time I change buffer?! Argh!

max v2;
#N vpatcher 573 125 1173 525;
#P window setfont “Sans Serif” 9.;
#P window linecount 1;
#P message 173 180 51 196617 startloop;
#P message 251 120 43 196617 replace;
#P user ezdac~ 118 262 162 295 0;
#P newex 118 181 38 196617 sig~ 1;
#P newex 118 219 79 196617 groove~ Buffer;
#P newex 251 147 76 196617 buffer~ Buffer;
#P window linecount 9;
#P comment 338 80 100 196617 When used the first time it plays back the sound for no apparent reason but doesnt on subsequent replaces?! I only want playback on bang of startloop but this is not possible.;
#P connect 6 0 2 0;
#P connect 3 0 2 0;
#P connect 2 0 4 0;
#P connect 2 0 4 1;
#P connect 5 0 1 0;
#P pop;

Thanks,

Rhys

you need to send a stop message before loading a new file.
use [trigger] for that :

#P button 63 40 15 0;
#P window setfont “Sans Serif” 9.;
#P window linecount 1;
#P newex 63 90 72 196617 t replace stop;
#P message 190 147 51 196617 startloop;
#P user ezdac~ 125 269 169 302 0;
#P newex 77 169 38 196617 sig~ 1;
#P newex 125 226 79 196617 groove~ Buffer;
#P newex 63 125 76 196617 buffer~ Buffer;
#P connect 5 0 0 0;
#P connect 5 1 1 0;
#P connect 6 0 5 0;
#P connect 1 0 3 1;
#P connect 1 0 3 0;
#P connect 2 0 1 0;
#P connect 4 0 1 0;
#P window clipboard copycount 7;
