I'm working on a performance-based looper/sound manipulator patch and I'm trying to sync 4 groove~ loops in real time. Currently, I'm using the timer object to set the groove loop lengths to match my first loop, with 2x and 4x multipliers to utilize longer loops that are still appropriate lengths. I want to use the sync object to generate midi beat clock to sync the internal objects and eventually external devices as well. Basically, I want to trigger the record~ objects so the start points are in sync. I tried to use the groove sync output of the first loop to control the other record objects, trying to trigger them when the sync ramp reaches 0, but it doesn't seem to actually ramp through all the numbers, only triggering inconsistently. I've done the tutorials, but I'm definitely still a newbie. Any ideas for this would be appreciated. Thanks!

Unfortunately, there's imho no working solution for this and it still 

bothers me a lot. Groove~s sync outlet doesn't work very well because, 

yes, it never goes to 1., NEVER. The following patch was meant to manage 

something around this, but it's not convincing 'cause you got the start, 

but not the end loop bang... Anyway, try it, you'll get an idea of what

Thanks for the help F.E. I think your patch will actually help me get where I need to go for the most part. Since I'm using the first loop to set the loop lengths of the others, the end bang isn't as crucial since it *should* line up if the starts are sync'd. I just have to figure out how to implement it. I basically want to be able to hit the record button for loop 2, for example, but it won't actually start until there is a bang from loop 1....sort of like arming a track. I guess my problem there is making it so it doesn't re-record the next time the first loop comes around and sends out it's bang again. I was just about to ask what object could do this and then I discovered "onebang" as I we speak...should do the trick. I love these little logic puzzles. :)

I just don't agree, groove~s sync outlet always goes to 1. ALWAYS !

(Hint: But you can easily miss it if thinking in scheduler intervals... ;-)

I just don't agree, groove~s sync outlet always goes to 1. ALWAYS !

As I said in my original post, I'm still a newbie, so I don't profess to know all the objects I could use to take advantage of the sync, but the only time I could get close to a consistent bang is with a >0.93 object, anything higher was inconsistent...it seemed like it never actually HIT one...which doesn't seem logical, so I must be missing something. The suggestion given originally worked for my needs, but any further info on how to successfully utilize the groove sync output would certainly be appreciated. thanks!

Btw first save the patch and re-load it, it contains some loadbangs. Locking the patch would be good too, I hid some messy stuff.
