GUI elements or 'widgets'

June 20, 2007 | 2:55 pm

Hi all,

a few weeks ago i came across a website from which you could download some nice GUI elements (sliders, knobs etc.). I didn’t have time to download any and now i cannot find it and was wondering if anyone knows of similar sites?

Thank you
Chris

I would be interested in this as well. Actually what I would
really be interested in would be a place where I could find
JSUI/Processing source for widgets that I could then port
to Max.

here is a JSUI script which lets you load knobs made for synthedit. there are many online e.g. http://www.artvera-music.com/

Hi Oli,

Thanks for this great JSUI. Works like a charm with all my rotary knobs :-)
Is it possible to set its background to ‘transparent’ ?

Thanks again!
Philippe

Yes, thanks for the great JSUI!
Sidenote: Do anyone have any decent knobs/url:s to share?

I take it you’ve already looked at
http://www.cycling74.com/share … ?
I posted a couple at http://www.wildfrontear.co.uk/mctl
stuff.1.zip during one of my eulogies for matrixctrl
in dial mode, and some time ago someone posted a link
to a load of rather off-the-wall gui graphics (a lot
of it rather D & D, iirc) which I used to have
bookmarked, but seem to have lost now – anyone
remember this ?
cheers
Roger

I would also like to know how to make the background transparent and also is it possible to hide the value at the bottom?

Thanks
Chris

Dunno about the transparent, but changeing the 1 (marked with [] ) to a 0 will remove the numbers i think. At least theyre not visible anymore..

Thanks, but I can’t really take much credit – they’re
mostly tweaked versions of some of graphics done for
me by a guy named Fernando Covett – if I still had his
address I’d ask him if it was OK to share the rest, as
they’re really nice,
cheers

there is no way to make the JSUI transparent ( yet ;) ) but you can change the background colour with an argument.

arguments are as follows:

filename
numberofframes
minvalue
maxvalue
resetvalue
readout [0/1]
decimalplaces
int/float [0/1]
brgb[1]
brgb[2]
brgb[3]

best,

oli

if you want to hide the readout, set the argument to 0 and cut and paste the knob so it reloads.
