Somehow (!) I have managed to associate my Help Viewer files, for programmes other than Max, with Max. So in Noteability (for example), when I launch help, I don’t get help, but Max launches instead. Since Help Viewer isn’t an app I can choose in the “open with…” dialogue or in the “get info” pane, I’m stuck.

Help!

you can somehow (i dont know how) reset or refresh the associations and that should help.

for a reason (which i also dont know) maxmsp seems a bit agressive :) max 4 also always
thinks it has to own my vst plug-ins on machines with no steinberg app.

one solution could be http://www.rubicode.com/Software/RCDefaultApp/, i use it regulary.

only alladdin stuffit refuses to listen to it, but fpor many things it has been a great help to me.
