Just a guess but perhaps pen size isn't changing because you are 

creating sprites. I tried a simple frameoval message and it did

i've done simple iterative functions in max before, problem with this one is that lcd needs such long and complicated messages.

once in a while i have a look at poly~.help, just never really got around to using it. i'll have another look...

I think you can include pensize in the building of a sprite just

I think you can include pensize in the building of a sprite just  
before frameoval.

Sorry, my response was misleading.  You don't have to have jitter to  
use poly~

Attached is a way to do it using two abstractions I made in order to make iterations easier using poly. These abs work like a thru/send/receive between different voices of a poly. jln.voicein outputs what comes in if placed in the voice #1 otherwise, outputs what comes in jln.voiceout placed in voice #n -1.

It's just a rough example which should be optimized (my abstractions as well...) but you get the idea.

i've never worked with poly~ before, i guess this is a good oppurtunity to figure out how it works.

rough or not, it works great!
i've never worked with poly~ before, i guess this is a good oppurtunity to figure out how it works.
