for this kind of tasks i find audacity very handy. (http://
audacity.sourceforge.net/)
(watch out for version 1.3.1b or 1.3.2beta – there should be a new
release just today or during the next days – many things improved)

Hi,

I had the same problem som etime ago and I ended up using Fscape:

http://www.sciss.de/fscape/

A sort of Soundhack like tool, written in Java, multiplatform.

Soundfiles merger 2 on my system (OS 10.3.9) did not work.

All the best

Hi,

I think it’s something about AppleScript, I think that on 10.3.9 it’s
not supported.

Hans,

We want for example a 4 ch. aiff or wav soundfile.

allesandro,

grab a copy of audacity 1.3.2 (best from http://
audacity.sourceforge.net/files/ – thats where the newest builds are.
as i said, they are about to release a new version, probably tonight).

under preferences/file formats check "use advanced mixing options"

import the individual files into audacity. when you export, you will
be prompted with a basic track mixer, which by default has as many
inputs as you have tracks, connected to as many outputs -> this
creates a multichannel-file.

imho, audacity is becoming a serious alternative to peak and i use it
all the time.the copy i use by now is supporting vst, au, and ladspa.

Now available! It does run under 10.3.9 too, and the CLI are
Universal Binary.
