(watch out for version 1.3.1b or 1.3.2beta - there should be a new

I had the same problem som etime ago and I ended up using Fscape:

A sort of Soundhack like tool, written in Java, multiplatform.

Soundfiles merger 2 on my system (OS 10.3.9) did not work.

under preferences/file formats check "use advanced mixing options"

import the individual files into audacity. when you export, you will 

be prompted with a basic track mixer, which by default has as many 

inputs as you have tracks, connected to as many outputs -> this 

imho, audacity is becoming a serious alternative to peak and i use it 

all the time.the copy i use by now is supporting vst, au, and ladspa.

Hey everyone - thanks so much for all that advice! - this forum is a fantastic thing!

soundifles merger has been fantastic for me - only thing is it dosent support sd2s. not a major problem though.
