Helps to synthesize THX Deep Note

May 18, 2011 | 4:40 am

I found a website where describes the steps that to synthesize the famous DEEP NOTE. But this is for supercollider. I do not know how can you convert this to a patch for MAX / MSP.

The Website is:

someone can help me! Thanks. :D

Thanks for the great link! I’m about a quarter of the way through so far, have found the write-up pretty straightforward. Just sounds like a bunch of buzzing wasps at the moment though. Try getting all the criteria right for one voice first then the other 29 should come easily. Will post my solution once I’m done.

I’ve tried synthesize the DEEP NOTE in max/msp, and I’ve achieved to do the first step that describes in link, where you can listen a noise like to lot of bee.

oooooh; a very intriguing find indeed.

I’ll get stuck into this too, if I may.

Who can tell me what kind of object can generate quadratically interpolated random values? I have not found an object that serves for this yet.

This correspond to the second step to synthesize the deep note!

I have no idea about that bit! I just saw the word noise and went straight for that. To be honest though the noise does add some character it seems but it’s a bit too subtle

Nice start to the patch btw – totally different to mine.

First, the main patch…

– Pasted Max Patch, click to expand. –

This next bit needs to be saved as thx_oneosc.maxpat….

– Pasted Max Patch, click to expand. –

I think I could do with tweaking it further but it’s in the ballpark…. Excuse any schoolboy errors in conventions, it’s just a first draft!

Hi mr_mapes!

I don’t know how can I read those codes that you posted, becouse I’m a beginner to use of max/msp. Can you tell me how do this?

Thanks! :)

Copy the text inclusive of —–begin—— to —–end—— and simply paste into a new patcher. The reverse is to highlight your patch, copy compressed, and paste here or there or wherever…
