Hide method to user ?

Hello maxers,

right_click on external’s inlet show attributes/messages of this external ; is it possible to hide a method in this pop-up ? (I want to make a kind of secret code and give billions $ to the first who will find it).

you can implement an “anything” method, and hide in there whatever you want…

There’s a more elegant way of doing this:

CLASS_METHOD_ATTR_PARSE(c, "messagetobehidden", "undocumented", gensym("long"), 0L, "1");

Another way to do what EJ mentioned is with CLASS_STICKY_METHOD. If you look for that in the API there is an example of using it to set the ‘undocumented’method attr.

CLASS_METHOD_ATTR_PARSE has now been documented for the next revision of the SDK.

thanks i’ll have a look on CLASS_STICKY_METHOD …

PS : I found where i seen CLASS_METHOD_PATTR_PARSE before EJ post : it was in “dummy” example :-)
