In my Jitter external, I would like to create a attribute which is a c-string that will hold a pathname to am XML file. I have not had success so far. Does anyone have some example code they would point me towards.

The code, paraphrased, that I wrote and failed is:

attr = (t_jit_object*)jit_object_new(_jit_sym_jit_attr_offset_array,

"XMLConfigPath", _jit_sym_char, 1024, attrflags, (method)NULL,

(method)NULL, calcoffset(t_jit_myextern, XMLConfigPathCount),

calcoffset(t_jit_myextern, XMLConfigPath));

jit_class_addattr(s_jit_myextern_class, attr);

It compiles. I can create a new object in Max. The attribute is visible in the object

inspector. However, I am unable to successfully set it using the object inspector. I am somewhat unsure what the inspector is saving. It seems to recognize numeric values typed with spaces between them, but if I enter letters it stores zeros.

I recommend that you use a "symbol" attribute for the filename rather than an array of chars.
