How do I get a good fps with high res video.

April 19, 2011 | 12:54 pm

Hi everyone,

i’m working with high resolution video material, and keep getting about 6 fps.
The video has a resolution of 400 by 3640, and I’ve used different codecs (h.264, photoJPEG, prores 2 2 4 HQ) but all with the same result.

I’ve heard you can load video’s in to RAM, wich makes playback easier and more smooth.
I will be using two high res videos, and I need to be able to switch in realtime, without any loading time.

Can some one push me in the right direction?
