This is from the helpfile. You should have a look at the objects helpfiles before posting to the forum, this was an easy one... (option click on an object to get the help patch).

thank you very much... seems i was just confused by the "to max" default value in the list... if there was one of my devices listed by default i'd understood it.. could have been a loadbang.

how do i set the ctlout device?
