don’t think there’s a specific tutorial addressing this.
it’s actually a bug with max 5. should be fixed with the next incremental. you can search the forum to find more info.

however, as mentioned, the fix is to use jit.displays. the help file explains its use.

not much easier to understand then the helpfile, and you gotta make it work for your screen dim’s but…

Hello, I have found this thread with a the same problem, but have not understood the solution that i.te has. I have 5.0.3 running on os X 10.5.4 and the fullscreen always displays on the main monitor.

Is robtherich’s patch the solution? I can’t quite get it to work. What should go in the inlet and out the outlet? I also plan on having 2 or 3 different videos full-screened at the same time on different monitors…so would be great if the solution allowed for this.

Thanks a bunch in advance…

One thing I have noticed is the following: if you connect the second
screen / beamer to your computer with max 5 allready running, it wil
NEVER display on the second screen. Restart Max, with the second
screen plugged in, and all should work fine.

[jit.displays] ?

-> Jitter v1.6 – Tutorial 38: Basic Performance Setup

Well, I simply restarted max, with my os X menu bar set to my laptop and the display window fullscreened fine to my external monitor. I will also go through [jit.displays]…I have a feeling things might get complicated when multiple displays are hooked up. hopefully not…

thanks a bunch!

Thanks. This problem (needing all displays to be attached before launching Max) has been fixed for the next release (not 5.0.4, but whatever comes afterward).
