how to emphasize attack and how to remove attack in real time?

which method should be used in order to remove/emphasize the attack of the sound routed from adc~ in real time?

I highly recommend this article to everyone. Jean Francois
did a great job of explaining the details of how to manipulate
spectra at a low level. His examples are a great starting point
for experimentation.

You can do this with a compressor with adjustable attack and release times.

i know you might want to use max/msp to make this, but stillwell audio make a plugin which can do just that called ‘transient designer’.
