Trying to create a simple bpather that encapsulates an LCD so that I can use offset to scroll the LCD content.

Documentations shows adding an "inlet for receiving 'offset' message" which is connected to a [thispatcher]

But, adding the inlet to a bpatcher does not create a connection point (terminology?) in the parent like it does in a subpatcher... so,

how does the parent send the message to the bpatcher?

ie, no inlet exposed on the sending side, so nothing to connect too.

I had the bpatcher selected as "embed patcher in parent".

once unchecked the inlet exposed in the parent.
