Sorry guys, my math is more than a decade old and very rusty ...

I would like to patch a slope for my midi controls. For this I miss some basic principles. let's say we have a slider from 0 - 127. I need to change the slope, as this is usually done inside inside master-keyboard with the velocity sensitive. One variable in this function should change the slope from very shallow (0) to straight (64) to very steep (127). Those numbers could be different of course, as I can scale them. However, it is important, that 0 and 127 are always routed to 0 and 127.

Another approach could be a touchOSC multislider that controls the slope as drawn "by hand". Where would I start to accomplish something like that?

Another solution which I use frequently is this:

1) Choose a (fragment of a) function that has a shape that you like.

2) Map the MIDI input to the X-domain of your function

4) Map the result of the function back to [0,127].

Here's an example using the 'first quarter' of a sine wave:

1) Choose a (fragment of a) function that has a shape that you like.

3) Make the scaling
4) Map the result of the function back to [0,127].
