What I'm trying to do here, is to switch between two signals which tell cycle~ its frequency. However, when I try to do this, unwanted result appears.

Here is a patch, which demonstrates the issue, I know for sure that the problem is caused because of 2 inputs to cycle~ frequency inlet, although i use gate to shut one of those frequencies.

I hope I expressed my concern properly, but i think that this will help to illustrate the problem:

This problem is caused by multiple inputs to the cycle~ 's frequency inlet. But how in the world would i go about switching between pure sine wave signal and FM modulated?

If all you wish to achieve is choosing between modulated and non-modulated carrier oscillator, try this:

your patch had the modulation carried out before the gates, hence the change in frequency when toggling; look at the helpfile for [matrix~] which allows for more sophisticated routing of audio signals.

There is one thing though, that I want to see if I understand correctly.

The trigger object in your patch is used to make the modulation float box to produce a bang, which is essential later on, when everything is converted into a signal by *~ object, after which it is ready to be used , to modulate cycle~ frequency? (hope i made sense there :] )

You don't have to reply to this one, I am just curious how trigger object can be used, and how it was used in that patch you made, because I have not come across this object before.

Those objects which have more than one inlet, have a hot (left) and cold (all others, right) functionality; using [t b] tells an object "do your job", when using a right inlet. The trigger object is absolutely VITAL to get complex patches working properly, look at its helpfile
