Hi there,

for my first try with MSP, I’d like to hear your opinions about a problem I’m unable to resolve, even if some solution must exist.

I’ve to record a very long text. What I would like Max to do for me is simply the creation of one audio file. So I’d like to start Max’ recording with a key from the computer keyboard and reading my text. If I’m happy with my reading, I’d use the same key, and Max should first throw away the first and the last half second (to avoid the clicking noise of the key) and then store my phrase in an audio file. If the next phrase doesn’t come nicely, I’d use another key, to tell Max to throw away everything I read from the last phrase, and to listen again. If the next phrase is satisfying, Max should add it to the last one in the same audio document.

Now, I studied buffer~, but the “write” command opens a save file window, and I’d like to continue immediately, leaving the saving part to Max. I can’t see how to solve the problem with sfrecord~ either, bur I’m sure it must be quite simple and I can’t see it.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
