I have a patch in which one can apply several CV sources to several parameters. I use a matrix~ to connect 64 CV-sources with 256 parameters, resulting in 16384 connections. To keep track of each value (each between -1. and 1.), I use a table to store the values.

The first thing I tried was this: I applied a pattr to the table that stored the connection values. Everytime I changed the preset, the pattr changed the values of the table and afterwards the new values of the table were sent to the matrix~.

Unfortunately this created 16384 messages, which lead to the result that everything else (drums, global clock) basically stopped for a while until those messages were processed.

So I tried to hook up the matrix~-object directly with pattr and preset objects, but they dont talk to each other.

My next idea was to add a matrixctrl in front of the matrix~-object. I havent tested wether this setup knocks out the performance of my patch as well, because as a major drawback the matrixctrl can store values only at a maximal resolution of 256.

I suppose there is an elegant solution, I just don't know it. Could anybody give me a hint?
