max is doing too much. if i create a comma in a "sprintf"-object" it always adds a space after it.

is there a smart way to get around that? i need it for some text-processing (i'm driving crazy, i wish i would never have started)..

sprintf takes a symout argument that will escape the comma

this is closer, but now there's a backslash to get rid of. maybe it helps though.

any reason to use a colon instead of a comma? problem solved...
