ICST Ambisonic Tools

hello,

as stated in the readme file that accompanies the ICST externals, this
problem is well known yet unsolved because we’ve never been able to
reproduce the problem consistently.

with the release of Max 5 and its new graphics engine, the ambimonitor
will have to be recoded and should then be completely crossplatform.

we’re waiting for the the publication of the Max 5 SDK to get to work
on this issue.

sorry about not being more helpful.

I really hope you will find the resources to port ambimonitor to Max 5.
I have only recently begun to explore ambisonics for an upcoming project
and was thrilled when I discovered that ICST had created ambisonic
externals.
Please keep them alive!

i can state that we have all intentions of maintaining the ICST
Ambisonic Tools and
make the transition to Max5 for the ambimonitor GUI-external as soon
as is reasonably possible.
the other externals are not affected by the changes and work as before
in Max 5.

cheers

hi jasch,
great to hear that ICST Ambisonics will be moving across to Max 5 – i’ve
been having a lot of fun with these objects (fun = building a patch that has
rapidly gotten way out of control :-). I’ve got a performance using said
patch hopefully coming up in a couple of months that would benefit a lot
from Max 5′s presentation layer, so I’d be more than happy to help any way I
can with beta testing etc of ports of ambimonitor.

best regards,

mark
