If I have Max/MSP/Jitter then...

do I have Max for Live too? I noticed that the documentation came with my latest update of the software and I am just curious about what it takes to use Max for Live... A copy of Live of course, but is Max for Live a different software than MaxMSPJitter or do they just link up like a rewire would?

Max4Live is a software bridge that allows you to integrate Max
in Ableton Live. With it you can create various MIDI/audio/video devices
and run them in Live. With out it Max and Live do not speak to each other.

And it's a product available for purchase from Ableton. Doesn't come standard with MaxMSP.

yep.. max4live is not standard max, and neither is it live. its a separate thing you need to buy to have.

If you already have Max and Live, it is a no brainer, it is well
worth it. If you do not own it, it may be an investment that may
take some consideration. I took the plunge and am glad I did.
I finally have a time line environment that will play my Max
instruments.

There is a crossgrade option (under Availability) for Max 5 owners on Max for Live (USD 99). Visit Ableton's site for info: http://www.ableton.com/maxforlive

Thanks,
