If I want to make a …..

I want to make a chaotic oscillator as a mxj~ object. I would like this oscillator to either follow a signal defining its frequency on the leftmost input. Or, if no such signal is connected, to fall back on a default frequency, modified my float messages that arrive on the left input.

How can I know if a signal is connected to the left input?

i think one of the mxj~ examples does exactly what you are talking
about. 08.mxj~tablesosc.pat in java-doc/mxj~ examples
