I'm planning to purchase the DMK 21AF04 for IR tracking purposes.

has anyone perhaps ever used this machine on a mac?

I own their previous model, the DMK 21F04, which runs splendid (on 10.5).

I'm not too sure if this one will, since sadly IIDC remains a rather obscure standard on mac...
