iLok – problems expired student licence

June 17, 2014 | 12:53 pm

Hi everyone,

I had a personal 12 month student licence for Max6 that ran out today.

My university has a stock of iLok usb keys for Max6 and I tried to open Max on my computer with one.

It seems that I cannot use the iLok to unlock Max now that my student licence has ran out. I have tried reinstalling Max to no avail. I’m now in a situation where it is impossible for me to run Max on my machine without renewing my licence – since my university has many licences I’d like to use theirs while I’m here.

Has anyone had this problem before?

On the Cycling74 iLok authorisation page it states "iLok authorization is not available for Student 12-month Max." Yes…

So do I need to change machine in order to use Max or is there a way of starting afresh with Max so that I can have the option of using the iLok?

Many thanks in advance for any help, I’ve been an avid user of Max for 6 years now and I don’t like the feeling of not having it close to hand!

Rob

Your best bet is probably to contact Cycling ’74 tech support directly.

No promises as to how they’ll react, but I’ve generally found them helpful.
