Hello everyone,

I’m sorry to post this here, i guess this is a bit rude…hopefully it’s okay and you won’t mind having a newbie disturbing you a little bit.

As i said i am looking forward to get some knowledge in MaxMSP, i aim to toy with it, M4L and my launchpad.
Sadly it looks like the file of the Max Basic Tutorial are missing ( http://www.cycling74.com/docs/max5/tutorials/max-tut/maxindex.html , check the first page for an example).
This tutorial looks comprehensive and i’d very much like to go through it !

Again, i’m sorry if that’s not the right place to ask this.

The Tutorials on that page are the same as the Tutorials in the built-in Max Documentation. If you have max installed, the tutorial files are all accessible via the the links in the tutorial which you get to via the help menu (or through the finder/explorer for that matter). If you want to work through the tutorials and don’t have MAxMSP installed, you should be able to download a complete install of MaxMSP etc (from the downloads page) and run the application for the 30 day demo period.

I’ve been looking all over for these files! I’m so glad I came across this post. I found them in finder but how do I access them in my Ableton Live library? Do I need to drag and drop them all in?

Drag in a M4L device, then click the ‘edit’ button which opens the Max window. After that follow the instructions mentioned above.

Just to clarify regarding Max Tutorials–

There are two parts to each Max, MSP, and Jitter tutorial. 1- the written document, 2- the patch that goes with it. In the online version of the Max reference documentation ( http://cycling74.com/docs/max5/vignettes/intro/docintro.html ), the links to the patches do not work. In the in-app version (Help menu), the links open up the tutorial patches.

Wow, thanks for the help. I just completed my first Hello tutorial! Cherry popped.

I’m still not being able to access all the devices and effects from my Live library window but I can access them via a finder window. The instructions say to click on Library > Audio Effects > Max Audio Effects > *supposed to be here but aren’t*

Any ideas there?
