Am I correct in assuming that if I send an image (a leaf for instance)

with a transparent background to videoplane that has @blend_enable 1

that it will appear as just a leaf (no square background or

videoplane)? If so, I was wondering which format to use and how to

avoid having black background, etc. Is there a better way of making a

sprite than that? I checked the forum to no avail. This seems

obvious, so I'm doing something wrong. Any help/pushes in the right

If the image type supports transparency like png or gif, I think it

will be in the alpha channel of the matrix when loaded in Jitter (I

haven't tested this theory). So, if that is the case, you just need

to enable blending and probably you'll want @blend_mode 6 1 for

png is the ticket... for some reason gif was displaying the white background.

gif have a strange transparency because it's one color of the palette 

which sets the background. That might explain why it's better to use

PICTs with alpha channel are working best for me. If you're born in 

mid-eighties or before, file sizes may seem to be huge - but there 

are no compression artifacts(all my textures are noisy/grainy).

I'll try that too.  I'll check it out in illustrator.  Maybe that will
solve the edge artifacts I'm seeing.
