a number box recieves up/down arrows by default as soon
as it is "selected" with the mouse.

the only little problem with this way is that it keeps
responding to the arrow keys (as well as digit keys) as
long as you do not click outside again.

if you want to create the connection of keyboard
and GUI element yourself, this is always possible,
but a lot of work.

A combination of [key] [sel] and [incdec] will easily do the trick…

You might want to look at [accum] too if you want steps of something other than 1 with each key press.

or just multiply it by something… also look to % –> sel 0 to make mini-counters, or [key] [keyup] to have a keypress trigger a number to rise at a certain rate, then the key-release stops it. lots of ways to do that, with control over everything.

the right outlet of numbers can let you select the next number (or whatever else) when you hit Tab. since a recent update you can select [thispatcher] which will deselect any selected number box and give you back the keys it was watching.
