installing Csound 5.07

hello

before using csound~, it is necessary to install csound 5.07
(i am on Mac Os 10.4)
Ok, so I just dowloaded the Csound 5.07 files, but I don’t find any
installers or at list a how to or a read me before.
If somebody would take a short time to tell me how , it would be nice.
I don’t remember that it was like that, in OS 9 and PPC..
well…

thank you

I got mine from sourceforge.net and it had a readme with instructions as
well as an installer that did everything.

yes, you are right,
I guess I dowloaded first a .zip file instead of the .tar.gz,
so now I have the install package

If you plan to use csound~ be sure you get the intel version from
maxobjects.com.

I have been running the MacCsound app sending midi from Max and getting the
sound back to MSP via soundflower. MacCsound doesn’t open now after
installing the new Csound 5.07. Can’t find an intel version of MacCsound.
Is there/will there be an intel version?

Matt Ingalls is working on an Intel version of MacCsound. I sympathize with you, though. I really liked using MacCsound as a csd editor. I’ve been using Aquamacs emacs with a customized version of John Ffitch’s csound mode. It’ll have to do for now.

If Csound were available as a UB, that would also work, but the chances of that happening are close to nil (for now). If you’re really desperate for Intel MacCsound, maybe you could give Matt a donation or some other encouragement to help him along :)
