integers into preset object

July 8, 2008 | 4:54 pm

is it possible to store more than one integer into one section of the preset object then have the integers unpacked seperately when the section is selected?

Ive tried packing all of them up and unpacking but this doesn’t seem to work.

Sorry if this is a kindergarten question but i can’t figure it out

I’m really not sure what you’re asking here. Preset will store
anything that it knows about. If an integer number box is not
specifically excluded, it will be stored in a preset.

Perhaps a sample patch showing where you’re having problems would help.

You were making it much harder than it is:

– Pasted Max Patch, click to expand. –

It does – that’s not at all how preset works… I would go over the
preset object help files and reference a few more times. I believe there
are also tutorials highlighting how to use it?

Andreas.

but please DO NOT NAME A PATCHER WITH A NAME OF A STANDARD OBJECT!!!
It doesn’t screw my Max installation, but could kill that object for
others…

It is much simpler: select all of the patch, choose copy compressed from
the edit menu, switch to your e-mail program, paste into the mail body.
This makes it magnitudes easier for anybody who wants to help you, it
doesn’t require to save the patch to disk…

I get an error now which says too many lines >1000 were posted to the max window at once, object (matrix~) output truncated.

It started after i saved a whole bunch of presets.

this patch has a problem with the matrix~ object which produces >1000 lines into the max patcher. If someone could explain why/change it, that’d be great :)

(Aknowledged that ive used parts other people have created. I just whipped it together quickly. Many thanks to those who helped)

You are asking matrix~ to output through 4 different outputs, but it
only has one. Change that part ;)

This post seems to contain a broken pasted patch. This can happen if you don’t copy the entire "———-begin_max5_patcher———-" or "———–end_max5_patcher———–" for each and every patch you paste; perhaps you missed a preceding or trailing "-" when you copied the patch? Please notify the Cycling 74 web team if you think it is a bug.
