hello,
I’m thinking about buying a new computer, a really
fast one, to get the most out of Jitter.

And not just Jitter: Jitter inside Ableton.
I understand that Ableton supports multicore and multiprocessors
quit well, and Jitter on it’s own not so good….

so, does anyone know how Ableton divides processes between core’s and processors? Maybe it works best if you have several separate devices?
Main question: Is it worth it to have 2 processors?

- Jerke

Yes, it divides. Yes, the load will be distributed more smoothly if you have several devices
The answer to main question: it depends. I’m not sure that your needs demand a pair of 6-core xeons

I see
well
the thing is: when building jitter patches on my laptop right now
(t7500 2.2 core2duo 3gb ram), there is alway’s a frame drop at the moment, the patch is getting a bit interesting….
But maybe one i7 would do the trick anyway…
It’t good to know that it works anyway, max4live and multi cpu and cores….
