Javascript ReferenceError: bang is not defined.

The function is called by a list of numbers, no bang, so what should I do?

Before my function call, I have:
  inlets = 1;
  outlets = 2;

and at the end of my function I have:
  ...
  outlet(1, bang);
}

but I get this:
  Javascript ReferenceError: bang is not defined.

just like lee said, in max bang is a symbol, so you have to output a string from javascript: "bang" or 'bang'.

 you would need to preface it with a line like

Or, if you really want to write outlet(1, bang); you would need to preface it with a line like var bang = "bang";

Thanks, folks. I had thought bang was a keyword but max-js must have been expecting a variable named bang instead.
