Javascript outlets, what am I missing?

July 18, 2007 | 11:10 pm

So I created an outlet and sent this to it:

outlet(0,"set this is it");

and then in max, send the outlet to a message box. Max just tells me the message box doesn’t know how to handle set this is it. what could I be doing wrong?

Thanks!
Rick

try outlet(0,"set", "this is it");
In what you posted, it’s all one symbol, not a message like is
needed. To make a message generally it’s outlet(0, "message", "args",
…)

Thanks! That was definitely not clear to me. Works now!

Or just send the message without "set" and use a prepend set object outside the js. Then the js just sends the message itself.

Sorry about posting it here, I didn’t notice the JavaScript section initially.
