I have a standard 4 plane matrix to which I have added a 5th plane containing metadata. The first 4 planes still contain the ARGB data in the usual order.

I want to pass this through a jit.brcosa, but it complains about a plane mismatch with the 5 plane matrix.

Here's how I'm getting around this, using a series of jit.pack and jit.unpack objects.

In Max5 this is the best way to go. In Max6, you can use jit.gen to create a custom op that will perform the brcosa in the lower 4 planes and leave the 5th alone. See the jit.pix.brcosa example. You'd need to convert the jit.pix genpatcher over to a jit.gen one in order to have 5 planes as input.
