jit.dx.grab crashes after selecting a format

August 25, 2007 | 5:43 pm

Hi all,

jit.dx.grab drives me crazy.
I have two bt878 cards which work fine with amcap.exe on my win XP box. I can choose all resolutions and colormodes.
When I open one of them in jitter with jit.dx.grab.help almost every second change of a value makes MAX crash.
I just want to bring it to a certain resolution and format.
I figured out that the resolution of the grabber only changes when I choose a format. I can list the formats. The list is very long (154 entries) but most of them make MAX crash. Why? What can I do?
btw I’m using the driver from http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/

thanks

i have not tested this with analog capture cards but i also get sudden
crashes as of late when fiddling with the jit.dx.grab object and my firewire
camera. i could not isolate this, even after a ghost and clean install. so i
cant offer a bug report

hmmm that’s really bad. Video input is not that dispensable for "new media". Does anyone else have some tipps how to handle jit.dx.grab crashes? are there any plans to improve that?
