I agree with vade, this is more than an mere annoyance.

Using jit.gl.model can be something of a crapshoot - I've often had to go back into the modeling app after a model doesn't load correctly, or even edit the .obj & .mtl files by hand, since there are subtle variations in the way different applications export .objs.

The problem is that the more complex your model grows (esp. once you're adding multiple textures) the more difficult & timeconsuming it gets to have to go back into the modeling app to fix it so that it loads correctly into jitter.

actually, might this be the reason I can't get materials to change render contexts along with their models? (see topic "jit.gl.model material disappears after drawto change") - if the texture was named via the .mtl file instead of the image filename, would that allow it to be bound to contexts other than the one it was loaded into initially?

I have seen this "ob3d does not allow multiple bindings" errors a lot but i was thinking that it was a restriction where I had to live with.
