I want to make a cylinder that can be easily deformed – bending just like a cheesy vj animation of traveling through a tube. I thought jit.gl.nurbs would be a good place to start. Problem is the nurbs always conforms to the first and last control points, making it impossible to create a cylinder. Unless I’m missing something?
If I can’t use nurbs, it would seem to make sense to use a shader to manipulate select vertices of a cylinder, but as far as I can tell shaders manipulate all vertices at once.
Huge thanks in advance if anyone can help me achieve this.
I figured out the answer – I had to close on both x and y axis (message "closed 1 1"). This smoothly joins the nurbs surface between first and last points in the control matrix. Don’t really understand, but hey – it works!
