jit.gl.videoplane "matrix output if enabled"

June 23, 2006 | 12:56 am

The left outlet of jit.gl.videoplane says "matrix output if enabled."
I would like to use this matrix output to send it through a delay,
jit.tiffany, and other jit.gl.videoplanes that work as jit.glue, but I
can’t figure out how to enable. Any help would great.

Thanks,
Keith

Scratch that. I shouldn’t have doubted my matrix output enabling
skills. I was doing it right. I have a different problem that I’m
unsure of how to explain. Thanks anyways. Sorry to bother

The matrixoutput outlet on the jit.gl objects isn’t necessarily
enabled although it might be there. This is due to the way jit.gl
objects are structured: they all have ceertain common properties and
this outlet is one of them. In the csae of jit.gl.videoplane, there
really isn’t much use for it.

What
are you going to get out of it? The vertices? This is just a plane
(same thing as jit.gl.gridshape @shape plane). The video? This is
just a texture. Use the to_matrix functionality of jit.gl.texture if
you want it as a matrix. If you’re sending video directly to
jit.gl.videoplane, then you already have it in matrixland and can just
use that. If you want to do processing in openglland, then use
jit.gl.slab or jit.gl.shader. for glue-like functionality, use
multiple videoplanes or a similar technique with textures to piece
things together in opengl.

Hope this helps,
wes
