Hey,

I want to stream to a host with the jit.qt.broadcast object like i do now in QuickTime Broadcaster with the Automatic Unicast (Announce) transmission. I’ve got a quicktimehosting service now where i just send this broadcast to, which internet users can connect to see the live broadcast. (I believe their system is Darwin Streaming Server). But is possible to connect from the jit.qt.broadcast to this host, in spite of not having a IP address and a sdp file i cannot upload.
So if it possible where/how do i fill in my hostname, username and so on? If not is there another way to get a videostream from jitter into QuickTime Broadcaster?

Thanks in advance,

There is currently no way to do “Automatic Unicast (Announce)” using
jit.qt.broadcast (and I don’t believe there ever will be, unless
Apple significantly improves the documentation of their Broadcasting
API). You may be able to use jit.broadcast for this (which does
support Announce streams), although there’s currently no facility
implemented for authentication.

I’ve heard reports of some people using jit.qt.broadcast successfully
in conjunction with QT Broadcaster; others have reported the exact
opposite. This is an issue I’m currently researching, and if a
solution to the reported problem is found, we’ll let you know.

i’ve been searching the list, my friend and the neighborhood bar for the former group. if you have had success using jit.qt.broadcast and darwin streaming server, please stand up.

ill try it tomorrow with QTSS on OS X 10.4.7 server with jitter 16.2
on PPC.

I recall having dicked with it and gotten it working with an earlier
version of 1.6, but it was just for shits and giggles, and never did
anything serious with it.
