jit.qt.grab resets attributes on open

December 29, 2006 | 11:13 am

Hi,

This issue might have been addressed earlier but I can’t find it in the archives with a few quick searches.

It looks like jit.qt.grab’s attributes such as channels and samplerate are auto-determined when opening a device. This means that the previous values for these attributes are lost when a user sends jit.qt.grab an open message.

It took me quite a while to figure this out. If it is intentional I think it would be a good idea to mention this issue in the help files.

Max 4.5.7, Jitter 1.5.2, Mac OS 10.4.8.

Regards,
Mattijs

If you look at the reference pages, you’ll see that certain values
are marked as (default = digitizer-specific). It may not be explicit
enough, but this is the mention.

Ah, I see. I overlooked the logical step that "digitizer-specific" means that the settings will be overwritten once you change the digitizer. Perhaps a good idea to add a short note to the reference page or help file.

Thanks for your reply,
