jit.qt.record quality issue

January 15, 2007 | 1:39 am

While ago I constructed this patch where picts from an lcd are written to successive frames in a movie usign jit.qt.record. The lcd would be resized to monitor with in order to use the entire screen. In 4.5.4/1.2.3 this would work perfectly, but with 4.5.7/1.5.2 the quality of the resulting movie seems poor. I make sure that dim, srcrect and dstrect are set to screen width and qualities I tried are max, high and lossless. Is there anything I am overlooking?

Someone must have notices something. Either something changed on the part of Jitter, or Quicktime. Lines in the LCD of one pixel wide are blurred into oblivion once recorded in the movie. Once again, this exact same setup would work on a previous version. I tried changing formats (jpeg, raw, tif) and quality (high, lossless, max).

The patch below showed how I manage to write a non blurred pict. Notice that only the second time this is the case. Size is set to my applications needs. But supposedly anything will do. Import a non blurry image and write it to movie.
