jit.uldl is loosing filetype at download

dear list

i want to download a max-patch from somewhere and
then instantly open it into max.

when i download with a browser all is fine.
when i do it with jit.uldl the file has its filetype
set to ???? and max refuses to open it.

here is a file/url to test this:

http://es.klingt.org/filipino/test/test.pat

This is a known bug which is too annoying to fix to justify the effort,
since I want to rewrite the object, anyway.

jit.uldl will be brought into the new millenium before too long, at
which point this will (hopefully) be fixable. Until then, thanks for
your patience.

Dear Klaus,
the patch you provided definitely will download a copy to c: called test.pat on my winXP pro machine, if that is any consolation, so I gather you’re on a mac?

All the best,
Andreas.

By the way, great way to grok little tricks for jitter :)

You can use the filetype object ( surprisingly written by Jeremy
Bernstein ;) to fix this, it opens fine then. (Mac only)

cheers, g.
