i tried to port/continue/eventually finish some external-coding work today...

in these externals i make use of the jit_gl_get_context to get the gl-context for other purpose (like its propsed in other postings)... i ran into trouble with this, allways getting errors obtaining the gl-context of the jit.window...

the same external runs on max4.6 though...

max drops "dont" everytime i call this function

(yes, there is a gl-context existing in form of a jit.window)

what do i have to do, to make it work with max5.0.5/jitter 1.7 ?

dont have max 4.6 on intel...

When are you actually asking for the context? It could be that the

global context in jitlib is set to 0 even if there are active

When are you actually asking for the context?  It could be that the

contexts.  If you are doing this in the midst of a draw function, then
it shouldn't be 0.

There are other strategies for getting contexts depending on what
you're trying to accomplish.  For example, it's possible to get the

well, i did ask for the context on instantiation of the object, so not necessarily a context is there, although a jit.window was created before... in max4.6/jitter 1.6 (or is it tiger?) i still can ask for the context dont know what i get back, but at least i get something back... in jitter1.7/leopard ... the jit_gl_get_context function call does not return anything if the context is not there it seems... so i couldnt proceed... now i have my function in the dest_changed - function everything works fine now...

That's the best place to ask for the context as there's guaranteed to

be a context there. Glad you were able to sort it out.
