has anyone played around with Jitter (specifically jit.gl stuff) on a
macbook? the lack of a dedicated graphics card makes me nervous. i’d
love to hear anyone’s expirience wrt performance.
Well, i don’t have a macbook nor a macbook pro… but from some
googling, here is theoretically what can be deduced:
The macbook features an Intel GMA 950 graphics processor chipset,
- it uses system memory for graphics;
- some of the 3D is done by the main processor, i.e. software rendering…
The GMA 950 is a graphics business chipset.
Check benchmarks of 2 recent PC laptops, a HP DV1000T and a Fujitsu
LifeBook N6410, with similar chipsets as macbook and macbook pro, so
one (HP) featuring the G450 chip and another one (Fujistsu) with an
ATI mobility X1400 (the macbook pro has an ATI Mobility Radeon

So results are near 4 times faster on the Fujistsu laptop using an
ATI; although this is on Windows, i think we should not see very
different results on Mac OSX.
