Jitter courses or tuition in London???

Looking for either an intermediate Max/ Jitter course or someone who can give me some tuition.

Anything / anyone out there in London? Preferably without having to sign up for a whole music degree.

Know the basics. Have been Maxing on and off for a couple of years. Wanting to get a bit more serious.

hi marcus

i took a few intermediate level max / jitter classes at parsons last year
and videotaped them all. they’re a bit of a mess at the moment, but you can
find them here:

MaxMSPVids.com

and if there’s interest, i’ll put a little time into fixing up the site and
making it a bit more usable

427 mb a lesson.

They must be compressed at 320 x 240 PhotoJpeg 75% ;)

Better upgrade my broadband plan…..

Thanks though. I’ve looked through the notes and the videos look very useful. I’ll get on it.

But surely I’m not the only Maxer in London?

there really isnt much of a max scene in london. ppl are interested in it, but there is little in the way of maxmsp courses above beginner level. even uni courses arent that good in my experience.

i’ve been thinking about it recently, and i’ve been considering going to ny or sanfran!!! seems there is more of a scene over there…

Thanks for putting those up, you can see me also being an idiot in
that class. MUCH FUN!

there is a max scene in london, but (as a transplanted new yorker)
it’s not as concentrated.
for one, i teach max around at various universities, but most are in
the process of switching over to max/jitter from more “traditional”
media types. also, most people here use pd/GEM and various FOSS
packages to do audio video. supercollider is also big. openlab is a
loose group that can be helpful, but they are not max-inclined
because max is not opensource.

i was thinking about getting together a patching group here. are
others interested?

cheers
