JITTER — HELP PLEASE weird audio noise

FOr some reason when I press ‘START’ and run this in a track resampling the master audio for frequency analysis, even with live not actually playing I get some weird noise creeping into the system??

If I press ‘START’ again to stop the video and the noise stops. I’m using a Motu Traveler and wonder if it has anything to do with that?

ANY help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

Is the noise coming from your movie clips?
Try setting @vol 0. to your jit.qt.movie objects and see if your creepy sound is gone.

The thing is that jit.qt.movie plays sounds from the movie clips on your main system output, even when you stop the metro it still plays for a bit.

the movie clips don’t have audio, would there still be a sound if I rendered them with no audio?

thanks

I’m using a jitter patch as well in Max for live. Sometimes, I’m getting weird noise; a little bit like if the sound was at 2k 8bits… Sometimes, it’s ok but it’s too risky to use that patch in a live situation…

Also, when I use the same patch in Max only, I never get that noise.

Basically, I use jit.qt.movies without their sound and I synchronized sounds from an audio buffer which I play using the object play~….

I could post the patch if asked but it’s a really big patch with loads of bpatchers and poly~…

By the way, it’s not the soundcard as I just did the test and it is doing the same thing with the internal soundcard…

Ok, after doing further tests, I found the problem comes from play~ because when I read the same buffer with groove~, I don’t get these bad noises…

Play doesn’t work properly inside a poly~ but works well outside of it…? why?
