keyboard shortcuts in a vst plug

I made a patch where, using the objects key, sel and other stuffs, I can control some actions by hitting a key. all works fine inside max. then I built a vst from my patch to use it in a host audio sequencer (ableton live 6.0.1). the plug doesn’t respond to the key command…
someone had the same problem?
thanks

ableton captures all keystrokes. though you could assign a keystroke to a vst parameter and do it that way

the problem is that I have not to control (i.e.) a float ramp for real
time pitch shifting with a plugparam object, but only a simple
“play/stop” a buffer. inside max I solved it with key obj + sel 112
(the “p” key number) + a toggle. so in max it’ s easy, but into the
plug in?
may be a plugmidiin object can be helpful?

thanks bin
I worked 2 days but at the end I succeded in… I used many pp objects (also for the switch) with key, sel, counter etc. than in ableton I made the key set up. if you or someone needs:

max v2;
#N vpatcher 1432 465 1743 870;
#P window setfont “Sans Serif” 9.;
#P window linecount 1;
#P message 116 249 62 196617 rawfloat $1;
#P number 71 325 35 9 0 0 0 3 0 0 0 221 221 221 222 222 222 0 0 0;
#N pp 5 “Rec On/Off” 0 1 choices Off On;
#P newobj 71 285 177 196617 pp 5 “Rec On/Off” 0 1 choices Off On;
#P newex 168 30 48 196617 loadbang;
#P number 116 103 35 9 0 0 0 3 0 0 0 221 221 221 222 222 222 0 0 0;
#P newex 116 129 44 196617 sel 106;
#P newex 116 56 40 196617 key;
#P number 116 213 35 9 0 0 0 3 0 0 0 221 221 221 222 222 222 0 0 0;
#P button 116 157 15 0;
#N counter 0 1;
#X flags 0 0;
#P newobj 116 183 66 196617 counter 0 1;
#P outlet 71 365 14 0;
#P fasten 9 0 8 0 76 356 55 356 55 274 76 274;
#P connect 10 0 8 0;
#P connect 8 0 9 0;
#P connect 9 0 0 0;
#P connect 4 0 6 0;
#P connect 6 0 5 0;
#P fasten 7 0 2 0 173 151 121 151;
#P connect 5 0 2 0;
#P connect 2 0 1 0;
#P connect 1 0 3 0;
#P connect 3 0 10 0;
#P pop;

now I’m going on with the problem of instantiating multiple copies of the some plug ins on different channels. I don’t think I’ll be able… may be I’ll work with only 1 ;D

the only program that’ll allow you to use keystrokes in a vst that I know of is Cubase. Live defintely doesn’t. In cubase, it’s set in the preferences. It can also be turned on and off with a keycommand.
